Probably
the best feature in my bedroom is the south-facing triple window. I love the
view it gives of the farm, not to mention the natural light it gives the room.
One slight disadvantage of big windows I have found though, is that along with
the light comes natural heat. So often times, the windows are covered with
shades. Today however, I opened all three of the shades. I didn’t think much of
it. It was just nice to have them open again.
Now, fast
forward to this evening. I was laying in bed and mulling an issue that had been
on my mind for some time. I figured a good course of action would be to pray
about it before going to sleep. Prayer over, I glanced out the unshaded window.
Obviously the only light coming in was from the stars. But something
immediately caught my attention. Framed perfectly in the upper pane of glass of
one of the windows was a constellation. I am no expert of the skies, but this
one was impossible to miss. Just a group of stars that some ancient person
observed and named. A group of stars that has been there from the beginning of
time, and tonight was in my window. And, I think, in that group of stars, was
the hand of the One we serve.
His hand reaching out, saying, “I am here,
beyond the stars. I am also right beside you. And every prayer you pray, I
hear.”
